What to Expect

Thank you for your continued support of the Tommy Griffin Tournament over the years.

We are delighted with the level of interest in this year’s event and have been inundated with enquiries from teams wishing to take part.

Given the numbers involved, we are making a change to this year’s venue. Dingle’s second pitch is currently being redeveloped with a new astroturf surface, while the Lispole pitch, which we have used for a number of years, is also unavailable ahead of preparation works planned for Comortas Peile na Gaeltachta 2027.

Unfortunately, this means we do not have sufficient pitch capacity in the Dingle area to host a tournament of this size. We are also keen to continue improving the tournament by bringing all 30 teams together at one venue and making the day as comfortable, convenient and accessible as possible for every player, team and their respective supporters. As a result, the 2026 Tommy Griffin Tournament will take place at:

Kerry GAA Centre of Excellence, Currans
Saturday, 7 November 2026

The facilities at the Kerry GAA Centre of Excellence will allow us to run the tournament smoothly and include:

Multiple pitches to accommodate all teams at the same venue

Dressing rooms and showers

Ample parkingFood trucks and Tea & Coffee/Snack trailer on site

SMERC Mobile Recovery Unit available on the day

Tournament format - For teams taking part for the first time, games will be played on the following basis:

13 players a side

Unlimited substitutions

15 minutes per half

Every team guaranteed a minimum of two games

Tournament levels

This year’s tournament will be divided into three levels:

Platinum, Gold, Silver

Teams are asked to state their preferred level when registering. We will do our best to accommodate all preferences while ensuring that the groups are as balanced and competitive as possible.

Travel Currans is approximately 45–50 minutes from Dingle by road, and teams will be responsible for organising their own transport to and from the venue.Bus transport can, however, be arranged for teams on request. Please contact us if this would be useful for your group.

Accommodation in Dingle For teams planning to stay overnight in Dingle, we have put together a list of recommended hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs and holiday homes on our website https://www.tommygriffintournament.com/places-to-stay

Teams should contact the accommodation providers directly to check availability and secure their booking. We strongly recommend booking as early as possible, as accommodation in Dingle is likely to be in high demand for the tournament weekend.

Tournament schedule Games will begin at approximately 9:30 a.m., with the Group Finals expected to finish at approximately 4:00 p.m. Once the football has finished, we will return to Dingle for refreshments and complimentary food from The Fish Box Truck @ Muiris Dan's. This will be a great opportunity for everyone to relax and catch up after the day’s games.

Entry fee and registrationThe entry fee is €300 per team, which works out at €15 per player for a squad of 20. Entry fees are non-refundable. Payment can be made to the following account: IBAN: IE76 BOFI 9057 0783 9470 47

Please clearly state your team name as the payment reference. Once payment has been made, please WhatsApp Tommy on 086 078 5575 with: Your team name Confirmation that payment has been made

Your preferred level: Platinum, Gold or Silver ( senior, intermediate, junior) We have been inundated with enquiries for this year’s tournament. The overall tournament is limited to 30 teams, and entries will be confirmed strictly on a first-come, first-served basis once payment has been received. A team’s place will not be secured until payment has been received and confirmation has been sent by WhatsApp.

Venue contingency Use of the Currans facility is subject to pitch availability and suitable weather conditions in the weeks leading up to the tournament, particularly during October. Should conditions make Currans unavailable, we have a backup option with pitches available in Tralee. All teams will be notified well in advance in the event of any venue change. Please get in touch with any questions in the meantime.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone for another great day of football.Kind regards,

Tommy Griffin
